Impressive antique ship model of the S S Glan Magfadyen, circa 1900. Handsomely mounted in mirror backed case. Excellent original condition. Measures 101 inches (8 feet 5 inches) long x 8 inches deep x 26 inches high. First owner The Clan Line Steamers Ltd - mng Cayzer, Irvine & Co, Glasgow. Other names 1921 SHUNKA MARU - 1925 SHINKA MARU - 1926 SHUNKA MARU. Subsequent owner and registration history 11/1899 Sir Charles W Cayzer, David Rennie and James MacKenzie, (same managers). 1901 The Clan Line Steamers Ltd., (same managers). 1903 Sir Charles W Cayzer, David Rennie and James MacKenzie, (same managers). 01/07/1907 Managers restyled as Cayzer, Irvine & Company Ltd. 1909 The Clan Line Steamers Ltd, (same managers). 1921 Yamamoto Shoji K. K., Amagaski, and renamed SHUNKA MARU. Vessel history 2/5/1916 Whilst on a voyage from Mauritius to London, was attacked with gunfire by a submarine in the Bay of Biscay, but escaped. 09/09/1916 until 10/03/1917 Collier Transport No. 1273. 1917 collided with ps EARL OF ERNE, both vessels running without lights due to suspected presence of U-boats. 30/06/1917 until 16/03/1918 Collier Transport No. 1273. 17/03/1918 until 30/05/1918 Expeditionary Force Transport No. C.0268, moving stores from Taranto to Salonika. 31/05/1918 until 27/02/1919 Liner Requisition scheme.
