Rare and fine 17th century North Italian marquetry commode circa 1680. Walnut with rosewood, olivewood, and kingwood inlay. Different mythological scenes on top and sides, framed with foliage. Paper label on back states: Magazino D'Antichita Oggeti d' Arte e Curiosita' Carlo Guarducci Firenze Via Maggio N. 8.10. The case measures 50.5 inches wide x 22 inches deep x 33.25 inches high. The two top drawers measure 4.25 x 20.25 inches and the two bottom drawers measure 5.75 x 20.25 inches. Period sand cast brass hardware. Excellent condition.
