Antique early Shaker cherry grain shovel, circa 1825-1850. Measures 35.5 inches long and 13.5 inches wide. Hand carved from a single block of solid American cherry wood. Fine original condition, no cracks or repairs. For a similar example, please see the Whitney Museum of American Art (New York) Shaker Design Exhibit Catalog, May 29 - August 31, 1986, page 146.
