Pair of French early 19th century stoneware gate or garden urns with flame finials mounted on faux granite bases. Dramatic and unusual. Each urn has a long square iron rod set into its base. The flame finials are 11 inches high and the urns are 15.5 inches high for a total of 26.5 inches; the urns are and 16 inches in diameter. The faux granite bases are 39 inches high by 14 inches square. The total height including the bases is 65.5 inches. Purchased in Paris at an estate sale in 1970. Wonderful deep rich glazes.
