A true matched pair of early American brass push up candlesticks, New England, circa 1820-1830. Each candlestick was made by hand on a lathe. The push up lever is used to raise the candle higher as it burns down lower. It also enables one to pop the spent candle stub out of the candle cup. Each candlestick measures 9.5 inches tall and has a 4.5 inches round base. Both are in excellent condition.
