There are 10 images of this item.

One of 10 original serigraphs in the 1970 "Inward Eye" Edition by Richard Joseph Anuszkiewicz (b. 1930), pencil signed by the artist and numbered 285/500. The image measures 25 7/8 by 19 5/8 inches; the frame measures 25 x 31 inches. Excellent condition. Framed to museum standards by the Chester Gallery in Chester, CT, known as Sol Lewitt's framer of choice. Anuszkiewicz, one of the foremost op artists of the mid-twentieth century, is widely known for his vibrating color combinations and use of simple geometric and linear forms to explore the nature of color and visual perception. Anuszkiewicz’s work is carefully (almost scientifically) planned and executed. His compositions are symmetrical, uniform, and flat; they offer little in terms of physical depth and space. Technically superb, the work is impersonal and cool, focusing solely on color and its function as the subject of his images. Inward Eye offers a compilation of the diverse compositional approaches and color experiments that is typical of Anuszkiewicz’s work in his early career. Inward Eye was published by the Aquarius Press and printed in Baltimore in 1970. The complete edition consists of 10 images, with illuminating text by William Blake. These serigraphs are difficult to photograph because the motion in them fools the camera. The complete set of images and folio pages are presented in this exhibition. http://www.uwyo.edu/artmuseumimages/docs/anuszkiewiczcurriculum2.pdf
