Nathan Margolis Makers mahogany Chippendale highboy c1925-1930, Chapin style carved shell design to upper and lower drawers, open pediment with three carved flaming urn finials and scrolled cornice terminating in rosettes, upper case with finely incised shell design center drawer flanked by two short drawers, over a pair of short and three long graduated drawers, full length reeded columns, brass batwing pulls, lower case with long drawer over incised shell design drawer flanked by two short drawers, apron with carved convex shell at center, ornately carved foliate scroll knees on cabriole legs terminating in claw-and-ball feet, Nathan Margolis paper label verso, approximately 97" high at finial x 45" w. x 24" This is with out a doubt the best of the best of Nathan Margolis furniture.The Margolis furniture store was in Hartford CT. They reproduced the best examples of period 18th and early 19thc American furniture designs during the early 20th century.
