American Federal style centennial walnut dining table with two leaves c1885. This is one of the highest quality tables we have come by. From the estate of Katharine Hepburn in Old Saybrook CT. Made form the most beautiful matched American solid black walnut. Measures 69 inches long and 48 inches wide with the leaves out, and 105 inches long by 48 inches wide with both 11 inches wide leaves in. The table was made in the 18th century Ducan Phyfe style, with two tilttop pedestals which allow for easy storage. There are two solid walnut rails that slide into the supports under each pedestal that hold the leaves, along with six brass u shape clamps. The table is in excellent condition.
