An unusual Continental hand painted faux boise wall display shelf or bracket of stepped design with an overall greenish & redish background, signed by initials "J.H.D." and dated "Anno 1830" (sic) on the middle shelf cornices. The dovetail construction is more typically 18th Century in this hand made provincial bracket, including a vertical back support with hangers. Probably of Italian origin, c. 1830. Dimensions: 14 1/2" H x 28" W x 5 1/2" D
