Bombay, Western India, Raj period pierce carved rosewood chair c1875. This rare chair just came in from an estate in Massachusetts. The chair is all pierce carved from a single piece of rosewood. Carved peacocks form the legs and feet. The entire piece is joined with wooden pins. This chair measures 45 inches to the top back, 12 inches to the top of the seat frame, 16 inches to the top of the seat cushion, 20 inches deep, and 3 quarters of an inch thick. The seat cushion is 19 inches in diameter.
