Period French fruitwood sewing box. This antique sewing box was made in France in the the early to mid 1800's. The top slides up to reveal several thread holders and the front has a single drawer. There most probably was a cushion on the front lid at one time. This piece was sold many years ago at Christies East in New York. Measures 10 inches wide 6 and one half inches deep and inches high. Very good condition. Just in from a local estate.
