American Federal cherry butler's chest circa 1790. Two small drawers over a large central drawer flanked by two bottle drawers over three drawers. All original except the finish which was enhanced many years ago. A rare piece of American Federal furniture in a very unusual size and form. It measures 49.5 inches high to the wave cut back splash, 40.5 inches high to the surface, 42.5 inches wide and 20 inches deep. Fine hand cut dovetails. The gently scalloped base ends in low French feet.
