SOLD ITEM 4470 - Antique fruitwood Biedermeier single door cupboard

There are 6 images of this item.
Antique fruitwood Biedermeier single door cupboard early 19th century. The angled corners and bonnet top are generally indicative of German origin. It is a country piece, and appears to be made of pine with fruitwood inlay. The crisp line inlay on the sides, and the star-and-ray inlaid door panel were a nod to the Neoclassic taste of that period. They are kind of an odd contrast to the romantic foliate-carved corners of the door panel, which could actually have been added later. Such contrasts are often seen on country pieces
