SOLD ITEM 4469 - Frank Lloyd Wright bed room suite

There are 6 images of this item.
Frank Lloyd Wright 5-piece bed room suite furniture. It was made by Heritage-Henredon Furniture Industries of Morganton, North Carolina in 1956. It was part of a 61-piece collection of furniture named the "Taliesin Line," after Wright's personally designed home in Spring Green, Wisconsin. Beginning in the mid-1950s, Wright offered his talents to three commercial firms to design products for the home, including furniture, wallpaper, paints, and textiles. Unlike his fellow design reformers of the day, Wright never shunned machinery or mass production, believing its power could be properly harnessed and used as an effective means to bring good design to the general population. The Taliesin collection was made of Honduran mahogany with mahogany veneer, accented with stylized Greek key carvings. Unfortunately, Heritage-Henredon marketed the line poorly, sales figures were disappointing, and Wright did not renew his contract with them in 1956.
