Antique Victorian hall tree. This hall tree is made of oak in the Art Nouveau style. Art Nouveau is characterized by curving, sinuous forms inspired by nature. This style originated in England around 1890, but reached its peak of expression in painting, silver, furniture, jewelry, and architecture in the cities of Paris, Vienna, and Prague. This hall tree's origins are not quite so exotic - it was probably made in Grand Rapids (Michigan) about 1900. It apprears to be entirely original, including the beveled mirror, beautiful hardware, and finish
