Antique Rare early French Secret Poison Ring. Restauration Period Charles X period, circa 1814 to 1830. Extremely rare early French compartment ring. 18k yellow gold phlange ring with removeable top in blue enamel with rose cut diamonds set in floral motif in silver. Size 5.25 This romantic period piece of exquisite workmanship is in excellent condition. The inner compartment would have been used to carry an intimate memento such as a lock of hair, or perhaps to hide poison destined for the rival of the court. No hallmarks. Weighs 12 grams.
