Antique English document signed in 1758 by Nicolas Tindal. Tindal was born in 1687 and died in 1774. He was educated at Exeter College, Oxford. His life's work was translating histories from French to English. He is best known for his translation of Paul de Rapin's History of England from the French, and his 3 volume continuation of that noted work. The document is an annuity receipt and is signed by Tindal. His portrait was engraved by Vertue after the original by George Knapton. The document is in excellent condition and measures 8 by 10.5 inches. The frame measures 18.25 by 23 inches. The attached engraving measures 8.25 by 12.5 inches.
