SOLD ITEM 1494 - Newport RI 18th century architectural room panels

There are 6 images of this item.

A nearly complete 18th century room from North Kingstown RI circa 1760-80. This room was painstakingly scraped by hand down to its original robins egg blue paint. It measures 16 feet square by approximately 8 foot 6 inches high and is 99% complete. The height could be adjusted one way or the other by a skilled carpenter. The room has been in storage for over 30 years. It was doubtlessly made by an important Newport, Rhode Island, cabinetmaker. It consists of doors, mantel, feather edge paneled wall sections, and windows. We have more photographs available. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity to own an extremely fine and rare early American period room.
