Note: Webber served in the Civil War and was presentat General Lees surrender at Appomattox. His sketches andfinished illustrations of the event were shown at the BostonArt Club and brought him his first public recognition. Theywere published as wood engravings in Harpers Weekly, andas lithographs by J. H. Bufford, BostonFrame measures 24" high by 30 inches long. Canvas measures 18 inches by 25". Gold leaf frame.
