This rare antique whale ivory walking stick dates from the early 19th century. Tapered shaft with fluted upper section capped by a dodecahedron grip. It was part of the Barbara Johnson Collection of scrimshaw and whaling artifacts. It was purchased in 1981 at Sotheby's 4 day sale of her collection. Length 35.5 inches. The shaft has a 1" warp.
