Set of four charming English coaching lithographs. Regency period, circa 1820. Two bear the label of Arthur Ackermann and Son / Gallery of Fine Arts / 191 Regent Street / London W. Still mounted in the original 9 x 7-inch wood frames. Rudolph Ackermann senior helped his son Rudolph Ackermann junior (1793-1868) to set up business as a print publisher specializing in sporting and military prints in 1825. The business was continued by Rudolph Jr.'s son Arthur Ackermann (1830-1914), who began trading as Arthur Ackermann & Son Ltd in 1906. The company was acquired by Peter Johnson in 1991 trading as Ackermann and Johnson Ltd and after 2008 Arthur Ackermann Ltd.
