A beautiful period tilt-top tea or breakfast table. Long Island, New York, circa 1790. The entire table was made from solid stock mahogany. The top was made from just two wide boards joined with butterfly dovetailed blocks. The original wrought iron braces cover the dovetailed joinery of the legs to the shaft. An old receipt dated 41/7/11 (?) is beneath the top. From the Barbara E. Ladd Estate. Measures 28.25 inches high and 34.25 inches in diameter. The perfect breakfast or small kitchen or dining table, easily seats four. Chairs shown are not included.
