Hitchcock Chair Co. Limited Edition armchair, decorated with a scene of Harvard University in 1726 on the front and inscribed to to Ellsworth S. Grant on the back. Excellent condition. Ellsworth S. Grant was a historian, a West Hartford, CT, mayor, and the brother-in-law of actress Katharine Hepburn. A direct descendant of Hartford, CT, founder Thomas Hooker, Grant was dedicated to the area's history and shared its tales through several books, films and newspaper essays, including dozens for the Hartford Courant. His books include "The City of Hartford: 1784 to 1984," which was one of 3 books he wrote with his first wife; "The Colt Armory;" "Yankee Dreamers and Doers" and "The Miracle of Connecticut."
