A large 19th century pair of Italian maiolica pottery covered jars, each having 2 large cartouches painted with a battle by sea and a battle by land, surrounded with decorative floral scroll work. Circa 1860. Each jar measures 17 inches high to the finial, 12.25 inches high to the jar rim and 11 inches in diameter. Very good original condition with only one chip inside one lid.
